Nice to meet you

The air is still, the sun is scotching and a herd of impalas flood the land and begin to graze. It pains the grieving mother and fills her with a great longing as she watches the impalas grazing with their young beside them.

Mama Leopard cannot imagine that her cub slipped away right before her, and she is now left with a bleeding heart. How could this be? A minute now feels like a decade, but with every single one, she inches closer to her next hunt.

The air is still, the sun is scotching and a herd of impalas flood the land and begin to graze. It pains the grieving mother and fills her with a great longing as she watches the impalas grazing with their young beside them. As is normal with predators, mama precisely chooses her target and begins to stalk the prey. Lurking in the distance, she begins to advance and stealthily gets a hold of a calf.

The fate of this young impala is sealed, as he fell into the claws of death! What is left is to say the last prayer, enjoy the final thoughts, and hope for a quick death. Funny enough, the worst never came! Mama leopard was not quick to pounce on the Impala. She instead sat there and did nothing. Did the ferocious predators receive a summoning from mothernature to strictly coexist with their prey? The Impala must have been terribly confused. "This was not part of the script, so I will just take a walk."

The leopard was trying to fill the gaping hole in her heart with the helpless prey, who is worlds apart from mama's baby leopard. Almost playfully, they sit together, in awe of this newly discovered and unexplored friendship. Other members of the herd gathered to witness this unusual scene, all the while keeping a safe distance. The Impala is taken hostage and is minutes away from death, but at the same time, it appears that the leopard is dieting, so it can't be so bad... Besides, the mama leopard is practically keeping the calf safe from other predators.

I guess I finally understand Stockholm Syndrome!

Mama Leopard quickly remembers that she runs every day and has no reason to watch her waistline. As if suddenly struck by reality, she whisks away the calf to a hidden bush and eventually winds up enjoying her meal on a tree top.

Finally, normalcy is restored.
